The Medical
Transcription division of Iridium Technologies
India Pvt. Ltd., started
its commercial
operations in the month of May 1998. At present,
the division is
operating from the prestigious
technopoilis in Trivandrum, Technopark, with a
state-of-the-art consulting outfit.
The Workforce
Iridium’s Medical
Transcription workforce consists of a core group
of more
than 300 well-experienced professionals
including proofreaders, editors and
transcriptionists. There are nearly 500 MTs
currently working in other units that
belong to
our business partners across India. The
Transcription Unit incorporates a
3-tier
hierarchy with Transcriptionists, Editors and
Proofreaders. All the
transcriptionists are
professionally trained graduates and all the
Editors
have more than 2 years’ working
experience in transcription. A selected number
of
highly qualified Editors are entrusted with the
duty of proofreading the work to
ensure a
superior degree of accuracy, normally in excess
of 99%, to keep in pace
with US standards.
As Iridium has transformed itself into a massive
transcription unit in the past
2-½ years, the
company is equipped with a training unit in order
to have
thoroughbred professionals in place
without delay. Only the best talents of the
country who qualify the Entrance Test, which is
to evaluate their proficiency
in English,
knowledge of Medical terminology and listening
comprehension skills,
merit an entry into the
program.

Iridium Tech has entered in a strategic tie-up
with one of the preeminent
transcription
companies in the US, M/s. HelathScribe Inc.,
Virginia. We are
at present catering to about 10
Hospitals through M/s. HelathScribe Inc.
Iridium Certified Medical
Transcriptionist Program, popularly
known as
the ICMT, is a training
and certification program developed by Iridium in
our
efforts to create an awareness about MT in
the country and evangelize on a
standardized
program for certifying qualified personnel. At
present, we are
administering ICMT Program in 12
centers and have already trained more than
1500
people successfully. The program achieved
widespread recognition and support
which is
evidenced by nearly a dozen Strategic Business
Partners across the country.
